Interesting places around Ipoh

Finished visiting to Ipoh? Are you sure? If not, please take a look back on the Ipoh local attractions.

So now you've gone through Ipoh, how about places around Ipoh? Here comes another reason why you should get a rental car when visiting Ipoh. There are some interesting places located around Ipoh where it's much more convenient if you got a car for transport. Otherwise, the only way you could take is to join a local tour or take a taxi.

Pangkor Island

Are you looking for sunshine and beaches? This is the well-known island in the state of Perak. You just need to get to the Lumut Jetty with about 45 minutes drive from Ipoh, and then take the ferry to Pangkor Island.

For detailed information about visiting Pangkor Island, check out pulau-pangkor.com.

Kellie's Castle

It's a never completed castle. About 100-years-old.

Go straight along Gopeng Road heading south to Kampar (not to be mistaken as Kampar Road), you'll finally come to a traffic-light junction with the sign board showing right turn to Kellie's Castle. But, you don't follow it. Keep going straight until you see another traffic light, turn right. Go straight along the road for about ten minutes. Then you should see the great mansion on your left.

Gua Tempurung

One word, "adventurous"!

Join for the cave adventure if you are looking for excitement. The formation of stalagmites and stalactites inside the cave will amaze you. If you go for the complete cave adventure journey, you would required to climb stone steps, ladder, crossing river inside the cave, crawling on the narrow pathway in between the limestones etc.

Isn't this sounds exciting? In less than an hour driving time, heading south from Ipoh at Gopeng Road, you should reach the Gua Tempurung.

Cameron Highland

Nowadays it needs only 45 minutes drive from Simpang Pulai (outskirt town of Ipoh) to Blue Valley (the highest point in Cameron Highland) using the new route. This makes visitors prefer to visit both places after one another.

Fresher vegetables become available in Ipoh since the journey from Cameron Highland farms to market in Ipoh has been shorten.

It's easier for Ipoh residents to have a relaxing holiday in cool place like Cameron Highland. It's easier for Cameron Highland residents to have nice food and entertainment in a peaceful city like Ipoh.

There's only two places in Malaysia for you to enjoy cold weather holiday, which are Cameron Highland and Genting Highland. People who prefer digital entertainment and gambling will choose Genting Highland, while people who prefer scenic view and nature beauty will choose Cameron Highland.

As for me, when I think about Cameron Highland, I will think of strawberry, fresh vegetables, cactus and roses. Oh yea, and tea plantation!

Last weekend, I went to Cameron Highland with my friends. Do you like to read about my diary of the short trip to Cameron Highland?

Kampar

Getting enough of my hometown, Ipoh? Now you can explore my mother's hometown too!

Kampar, a small town around 45 minutes drive to the south of Ipoh. It had been nearly a dead town until the University of Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) chosen it as its main campus site.

But for me, it's always attractive in the way of its unique and delicious food. So, let's go for a food hunting trip to Kampar!

Just one warning, there's a lot of pedestrians and bicycle riders on the road. If you are driving, you are expected to give way to them.

Other Places in Malaysia...
