Diary of my short vacation trip to Cameron Highland
28th April, 2007
It has been few years since my last visit to Cameron Highland, therefore I went to Cameron Highland last weekend to have a cold belated birthday (my birthday is 27th April) in this hot country. I spent little time there but I had a good time.
After checked-in at the Strawberry Park Resort and took lunch, my friends and I went to the popular Kea Farm for fresh vegetables. We were going to have steamboat at night. This is a great place to buy the vegetable needed. There are various types of vegetable available at low price, which is about RM2-3 per pack.
I bought my favorite mini tomatoes. It’s not for steamboat, but you can just straight away eat it. Dipped it with thousand island souse is another great choice!
Walking along the street, we took some snacks too, such as the fried mushroom, fried sweet potato, dried strawberry etc. Oh yea, we found a strange fruit, called apple guava. I’ve never see this fruit before, maybe it’s a new species? They are red and green in color. It tastes sweet.
We were so full after the steamboat dinner. So, we went to the night market to have a walk. At the Brinchang night market, we saw more snacks available. There are strawberries dipped in chocolate and honey, strawberry ice cream, grilled pearl sweet corn, fried sweet potato, dried strawberry, fried strawberry ice, kebab etc. It’s too bad that we were too full!
Anyway, we bought some small cactus. It’s ten Ringgit Malaysia for seven small pots of different types of cactus. I’ve one more point to mention about, which is I’ve never been to a night market without sweating, except in Cameron Highland! What a wonderful weather, Hehe.
After that, we went to T-Café at Tanah Rata, which is recommended by cameron-highland-destination.com and one of our friend (who went there not long before). Unfortunately, it was too late, the café was closed. We wish to go again on the next day, Sunday but it happens to be their off day. Hopefully we get to go there on some other time.

The next day, we have to rush back to Kuala Lumpur, therefore we just stopped at the Boh Tea Plantation on the way heading down the highland. The road to the tea plantation is very narrow and a bit dangerous but it’s worth for it.
Aren't them look nice? RM10 for 7 pots.
You can have a really great morning by having a cup of hot tea at the tea plantation café and admiring the marvelous view of wide spread tea plants. It’s a great spot for photo.

Oh yea, don’t forget to buy some famous Boh Tea of Cameron Highland as souvenir for your friends and relatives. There are few types of tea available for you to choose from.
Actually, there are much more places in Cameron Highland to have fun and explore with. I was just short in time. If you are interested to have a visit to Cameron Highland, you can get more information on cameron-highland-destination.com.
Last but not least, it just takes about 45 minutes to go down from the highest point of Cameron highland, which is the Blue Valley, to Simpang Pulai, an outskirt town of Ipoh by taking the new route. So, do pay a visit to Ipoh before or after you go to Cameron Highland. 4 days 3 nights in two different places probably is a good vacation plan for you.
